A fun new way to let passersby know the Beachburg Fair is on its way. Build a scarecrow display in your yard, get it judged, and help spread the word about the 170th fair.

Contest rules

How to enter.

  1. Build your display. Open to all residents of Whitewater, Pembroke, Petawawa and the surrounding area. Make it large enough to be seen by a passing vehicle.
  2. Include the fair dates. To be eligible to place, your display must include “Beachburg Fair · July 9, 10, 11, 12.”
  3. Email your entry. Send your name, a photo of your display, and the display's address to beachburgfair@gmail.com. All entries must be received by 9 PM on June 20.
  4. Judging takes place June 21. If you have placed, you'll be notified by email and a ribbon will be attached to your display for everyone to see.
Make it count

Tips for a great display.

  1. 1 Get creative and plan ahead.
  2. 2 Make it easy for anyone driving by to spot your entry from inside their vehicle.
  3. 3 Giving your scarecrow an action will lend feeling and presence to your display.
  4. 4 Don't be shy about being bold and adding colours to make your entry stand out.
  5. 5 Most importantly… have fun!

Ready to register your display?

Email your name, a photo of your display, and its address before 9 PM on June 20 to enter. Ribbons go to the top three — and first place takes home a Beachburg Fair Prize Pack.
